Blogging Platforms Used By Top U.S. Interactive Agencies
November 05, 2010
What blogging platforms do the top U.S. Interactive agencies use? That was a question inspired by my study for the Fortune 500 companies that blog, and what platforms they use.
My analysis of the 18 agencies Forrester lists as the top interactive agencies in the US, and Digitas concludes that WordPress and Movable Type are the top two blogging platforms used by the interactive agency leaders. WordPress is the clear leader.
Forrester highlights five companies as clear leaders in interactive, interestingly both Sapient and Razorfish are in the top five, both have multiple blogs, and both have a mix of WordPress and Movable Type technologies.
Razorfish mixes up personal and corporate blogs, while Sapient has personal blogs.
Also in the top five are IBM and IMC2. IBM uses Lotus Connections Platform, IMC2, Rosetta, R/GA and Arc Worldwide do not appear to have a blog.
My conclusion is that if you are going to provide a blog for a client, and are competing with the leading interactive agencies in the U.S. and Global, you should consider using WordPress.
