Ignite Charlotte 1 launched this past Wednesday at the Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte, North Carolina. Started in Seattle, Ignite Charlotte aims to enlighten you, but make it quick.
The concept is that a speaker has 5 minutes to talk through 20 slides that progress through their sequence ready or not.
Sam Fagan, VP of Business Development at Blueagele Marketing hosted the event and did a great job, he shared his passion for fostering children, and was funny and made the speakers feel welcome.
Part 1 consisted of the following speakers:
Where ideas come from - Patrick McLean
Technology Food and You - Jason Silverstein
What your phone can do for you - Andrew Gertig
Starting Charlotte's future - Jim Van Fleet
Setting the record straight: The real retrosexual male - Dwayne Waite
If you want a successful business - then hire camp counselors - Dave Bell
How to talk about sex without breaking a sweat - Becky Knight
Great speakers and my personal favorites were Jim and Dwayne's presentations.
Part 2 speakers:
How to be a citizen lobbyist - Warren Cooksey
Being a missionary - Chad Bryant
Webinars that don't suck - Dawn Adams Miller & Dick Carlson
Creativity Breeds Creativity - Rajeev Kulkarni
When life gives you lemons, start your own business - Jay Radford
Jack of all trades, Master of many - UX designer with american city business journals
The problem with data and statistics - Adam Holden-Bache
Social media for social good - David Wells
I really enjoyed Rajeev's presentation on 3D modelling, reminded me of a TED session, and Dawn and Dick's presenation on webinars that don't suck.
