CMOs Use Marketing To Expand Corporate Growth
February 09, 2010
Randall Beard writes an excellent post arguing that CMOs should help lead the corporate growth agenda, and also that CEOs have to be involved in the process.
I thought Randall’s piece illustrated the broad scope of marketing. While for many companies, marketing may simply be focused on Promotion, there's scope in the discipline to think about and engineer Product, Price and Place.
My reason to turning to the four Ps is that they are a classic marketing tool, and by reminding ourselves of the broad scope of marketing in areas besides Promotion we can understand the broad role marketing has to play in expanding a company's corporate growth agenda.
