Journalist Request Services
April 03, 2009
There are various journalist request services such as Help A Reporter Out (HARO), available to monitor requests from journalists, they include:
Corporate communications people subscribe to receive journalist requests. In turn a reporter will sign up for these journalist request services and post a request for expertise from the distribution list.
Public relations people read the requests and craft a pitch to send to the journalist. The journalist either responds or does not. Public relations people send one pitch email and if the journalist responds, the communications professional connects the journalist with the expert.
