Who Should Conduct Social Media In Your Company?

In a company, which discipline is the best suited discipline for social media?

Every individual has the opportunity to succeed in social media, a key component is realizing that the strategy in social media is to be able to listen to customers and the community and interact. That's one reason why I think product management and customer service professionals are more suited than many other professions.

Public relations professionals have always dealt with people so the profession has some advantages because of the need to listen. But I've found that product managers and customer service people build some of the best social media programs.

Guidelines

  • Blogging is all about starting a conversation with another individual. I don't mind if someone from a company posts useful and relevant information on my blog. But that information has to be within the context of an existing conversation. I reserve the right to delete or edit content and links from comments on this blog if I think you are just making a sales pitch or trying to increase your SEO standing.
