Global PR Blog Week 3.0 2008

Constantin Basturea has announced the third Global PR Blog Week 3.0 to be held sometime in 2008. The event is a virtual conference where participants submit articles, those articles are reviewed and if acceptable published during the conference week. The previous two events were in 2004 and 2005. The PR blogging community has moved on since then, but Constantin Basturea was as he is now the central figure in the conference. Though many, many volunteers took part in the previous conferences to make them successful. The PR blog week helped the PR blogging community get up to speed on blogging, and also brought the community together on the web.

In Constantin's introductory post on the new event he asked several questions of the community:

How do you see this event?
What do you expect from it?
What would you like to read/ see/ listen to?
What it will make it most valuable for you, and for the industry?

Here are my answers:

How do you see this event?

A great community event for the PR and communications blogging community. The quality of the content will be very high.

What do you expect from it?

Volunteers will play a vital role in providing content, however, I think this year it would be helpful if we had some central figures to manage the committees who are dedicated to the event.

What would you like to read/ see/ listen to?

-Which companies are running the most effective blogging campaigns in the world?

-Also, it's 10th anniversary of the cluetrain manifesto in 2008. 10% of the fortune 500 might be blogging or using social media, but how many of the Fortune 500 is following the majority of tenets from the cluetrain manifesto? Also, which companies are following the tenets of the cluetrain manifesto and are they gaining benefits. I’d like to see a discussion between the authors of the cluetrain manifesto and anyone that’s conducted any research into who has adopted all of its tenets.

What it will make it most valuable for you, and for the industry?

Wide participation and good articles.
