Blogging Doctor Reveals Secret Identity Under Oath

Dr. Robert Lindeman's unmasking in a dramatic court room moment illustrates the dangers of blogging anonymously. There is always the danger of being discovered, especially if you are under oath in a trial.

A story on the Boston Globe describes how Dr. Lindeman blogged under the name Flea and commented on the trial in which he appeared as a defendant. To me it was particularly troubling that Dr. Lindeman was being sued for wrongful death in the case of a 12-year old patient. Apparently the doctor discussed the case and the participants in the case.

I think this situation illustrates that even the most educated among us should educate themselves on how to act in the new world of social media.

Dr. Lindeman settled the case.
