I am happy to announce that I will be working on a book about corporate blogging over the next few months. Butterworth - Heineman Business Books or Elsevier and I just signed a contract to write a book about business blogs called "strategies and tools for corporate blogging."
My thanks to Jane Macdonald, the acquisitions editor for Butterworth-Heinemann for all of the work she put into creating the relationship and getting us to this point.
Jane contacted me last year after watching me host the AMA portion of a panel discussion on competitive intelligence in my role as President of the Boston Chapter of the American Marketing Association.
Based on our first meeting I wrote a book proposal, that proposal was sent to a number of reviewers, who had a few suggestions to make. I made changes to the book proposal and the updated proposal was accepted.
We then arranged the contract, and today I received my signed copy by FedEx.
As part of the effort to finish the book I am taking a leave of absence from my role as Director of Blogging Strategies at Backbone Media, Inc. in Waltham. My wife Karin is expecting our first child on September 29th, so I need to write as much as I can before that date.
It's always been my ambition to write a business book so this is a dream come true, and I am very grateful to blogging, other bloggers, the AMA and my publisher for giving me the opportunity.
